We've been brainstorming over the text of 'Blutrot' for 5 days but still have troubles... Could you please make some things clear to us?.. Wenn der Schmerz den Schmerz betäubt Ist alles was noch übrig bleibt Ein kurzer Schnitt - ein kurzes Glück Wie roter Samt - und kein Zurück What does 'Ist alles was noch übrig bleibt' refer to?.. Is it clear that it's a predicate, but what's the subject then? Is it Wenn der Schmerz den Schmerz betäubt or Ein kurzer Schnitt? The last strophe is also a blind spot. Und wenn die stolzen Klingen Noch so schöne Lieder singen Dich locken und verführen Lass sie Dich nie mehr berühren Do I understand right that the idea of the text is 'When pain makes you suffer and you feel nothing else, open your heart to me and tell me what's wrong with you'?.. Why then other 'Klingen' here? Does it mean 'Don't open your heart too frequent even if it seems to give you deliverance and is therefore tempting'? Or 'Don't open your heart to the strangers, you can trust me but be careful when speaking to other people'?
Thomas Rainer: Hi, Here's a quick english translation that might help you out. In general the main topic is very easy. If you don't swallow all your sorrow, speak about your fears, pain and dreams with other people, you will find relief. If not, you end up feeling numb and empty and only the pain will make you feel alive. Rain of Chaos: Well, thank you though this is not exactly what I wanted:) And please make clear another moment: is the 'Klinge' a blade of a sword or a blade of a razor?
Thomas Rainer: Hi, "Klinge" is the actual part of the sword, knife or similar item that cuts. But in german can be used for any form of instrument used for cutting, best translated with "blade". best, Thomas

Rain of Chaos: I'm asking because I'm translating the text into Russian, not into English. And Russian language is far more specific than English or German.
